All Change

Journal Entry: Tue Nov 11, 2008, 11:59 AM
I started volunteering at Plymouth Aquarium this week which is just fab! I get to help the visitors identif the animals, do talks and hopefully work with the husbandry side of things too.

I'm also changing jobs, I've been offered a promotion to bar supervisor elsewhere which is daunting but really fab. I can finally work normal (ish) hours and save up some money.

Had an annoying DA week this week as some of my deviations were moved. I believe that they were in the right catagory but others disagree. The images were of dartmoor ponies and were moved from wild to domesticated. I don't understand this beause they are actualy feral animals, which by definition means returned to a wild state. They are not domesticated in any way, you can't approach them, they are not ridden or handled either. Once a year they are collected up to check on numbers, but this is for a conservation purpose. Just because an animal has domesticated ancestry, doesn't mean that it itself is domesticated. These ponies live in some of the harshest, wild conditions.

Okay, rant over! :)
On a happier note, I'm enjoying my photography again and have had a go making some panos for the first time. I also plan to have a go with *InsaneGelflings camera this week and take some macro shots of tilly in all her glory.

Using my images

My images are not stock. I am happy for my images to be used as reference for use on Deviant Art. They are NOT for use outside of DA, or for manipulations. Please credit me if you do use them, and of course let me know as I am always interested to see what people have done. :D

Good news about the volunteering and new job, just a shame people can't tell the difference between wild and domestic, good luck in the new jobs :)

Thanks very much. I hope that I can get my deviations moved back, unfortunatly it was a club admin being petty because they disagreed with me, who reported my deviations. A shame that things like that happen.

Some people are idiots, and use Wikipedia to justify their arguments, and then use a website to back up Wikipedia's points, when the website is sourced by Wikipedia this makes the certain person look rather foolish (and she is a DA senior member :D). Some people just try to be clever, shame it doesn't always work.

Why not check out my gallery and website

I'm not arguing about it any more, i've said my bit, and I'm not naming names as that is petty.
